Visiting Tallinn Green Tech Week: Exploring the Green Miracle of Sustainable Development

“A journey through sustainable technology, showcasing the harmonious dance between people and technology, inspiring us to rethink the pulse of the city, while sketching a future blueprint that achieves both economic benefit and green sustainability.”

Owlsome Tech was fortunate to visit Tallinn Green Tech Week, a gathering of the world’s most innovative green technology and sustainable development solutions. Beyond becoming Europe’s Green Capital, Tallinn, Estonia also became the world’s Green Technology Capital this year, from November 13 to 17. The most innovative ideas from Europe, Asia, and the US were showcased at the international event, NEXPO Tallinn.

Tallinn Green Tech Week aims to promote green innovation, sustainable development, and environmentally friendly technology applications. By showcasing the latest technology and solutions, participants jointly explore how to respond to global environmental challenges and drive the application of green technology across different fields.

Tallinn Mayor Mihhail Kõlvart said that NEXPO Tallinn is the flagship event of the European Green Capital 2023 program, bringing the world’s newest and most innovative green technologies to Estonia. Kõlvart said: “Sharing best practices and cutting-edge ideas among green technology experts, businesses, and researchers will promote collaboration, which is key to building a more sustainable future.” He added that countries around the world are looking for ways to reduce their environmental footprint by improving the sustainability of transportation and energy infrastructure, while also fostering greener urban spaces. “Therefore, NEXPO Tallinn is a great place to learn about the most innovative green solutions that Estonia can also introduce, and to draw inspiration from them!”

“How can cosmic muon radiation be used to assess the condition of buildings? How does the cosmetics industry use oils and fats produced from forestry, agricultural, and food industry residues? What is it like to travel in a self-driving car? How will future labs grow meat? These and many other questions can be answered at NEXPO Tallinn,” commented Teele Joost, the event’s chief coordinator, adding that the event offers a series of exciting discoveries and hands-on activities for the whole family.

Maximizing performance in the elevator field, following the path to a green city

As pioneers in the field of elevator intelligence, we will continue to draw on Tallinn’s sustainable development philosophy through this participation, applying more innovative technology to our products. We firmly believe that digital transformation, smart applications, on-site upgrades, and sustainability are the core directions of our continued development. This is not only reflected in our product design, but permeates every aspect of business operations.

Green cities are the indicator of future development

Urban spaces that integrate environmental protection and sustainable development philosophies deeply into every corner sparked our reflection on our own city—how exactly can we participate to make the city greener and more livable?

At NEXPO Tallinn, we saw green innovation solutions across various fields. As Mayor Mihhail Kõlvart emphasized, “the sharing and collaboration of green technology is key to building a more sustainable future.” We agree with this philosophy and will continue working to integrate appropriate technology and cross-domain integration into elevator systems, moving toward the ideal of a green city.

During this visit, we deeply felt the key role that smart elevators play in green city construction. Through digital transformation and smart applications, our elevator systems are no longer just traditional transportation tools, but smart nodes in urban life.

Where are the opportunities for the future?

Environmental energy savings: We will continue to work to improve the energy efficiency of elevators, reducing energy consumption to respond to the challenge of urban energy sustainability. Smart applications: Through smart applications, our elevators will become smarter and more efficient, providing users with a more comfortable and convenient travel experience. Data-driven: We will deeply integrate big data and AI technology, providing smarter elevator operation and maintenance solutions through data analysis.

This trip to Tallinn made us even more convinced that green technology and sustainable development are the future trends. We look forward to integrating Tallinn’s experience into Owlsome Tech’s development strategy, contributing more efficient, smarter elevator systems to help build a greener urban future.
